So far I’ve managed to piece together boxes for Super Mario Kart and Super Mario All- Stars for SNES (already there in UK PAL glory) and translated the box for Zelda: Link’s Awakening. I took the shape of that Game Boy box and created (from scratch) a pretty good Alleyway box (in my opinion). SNES 2D Box Pack (HQ) 4 1 SNES 2D Box Pack (HQ) 20151004. The Stars in Background use a Dropshadow effect wich Ai pixelize (and ALL the other Stuff under this Layer) when you Import the PSD.-Either u use PS to open and edit the File,-or in PS deactivate both 'Stars' Layer and Save it and open it in AI (but then the stars are gone),-or better move the Background and stars layer to the bottom and Save it and open it in AI.-OOOORRRRRR you have to wait for the next update, but this can take his time.

Updated—added more art (see bottom of post)I'm a somewhat anal-retentive graphic designer and I've found that most box art resources are a little inconsistent in dimensions and quality. Many seem to be janky cut-and-paste jobs. The thing that really tends to irk me is that much of the artwork out there varies just a little bit in colour and size from one box to the next. This becomes obvious when you're flicking through the SNESC GUI from one game to the next.To rectify this I've started to rebuild cover art of the games I intend to upload to my SNESC.I'm working from a Photoshop file that uses the same basic elements for all boxes—same brand graphics, Nintendo logos, classification logos etc. That way everything should have consistent colour and scale. Then I'm taking hi-resolution box art and cleaning up the colour balance and removing any creases or blemishes from the original boxes.I'm discovering that the layouts of many covers do vary quite a bit, but I'm trying to keep placement of the SNES brand and keep the image area roughly the same across everything. This may not be for purists—I'm just trying to get the optimal result for the SNES GUI.The native size for most of the included games on the SNESC is 228 x 160. The PSD template is double this (456x320)—just to make things a bit easier to move around and line up (228x160 is damn small!).

Hakchi will resize for you when you upload, or you can do it manually. You can download the PSD template here—all the main elements are layered so you can rejig to match the unique layouts for each game.EDIT: UPDATED LINKYou can see the covers that I have 'remastered' below. I'll add to this as I go. DKC 2. DKC 3. Aladdin. True LiesUPDATE 2.

Battletoads in Battlemaniacs. Chrono Trigger.

Zombies Ate My Neighbors (Comic Book Version). Uniracers. Bubsy.

Bubsy IIUPDATE 3. Killer Instinct. UN Squadron. Ken Griffey presents MLB. NBA Jam TE.

TMNT Turtles in Time. R-Type III.The first thing I fixed was the original stock covers. Especially Earthbound! And It's unfortunate Nintendo just googled for box art rather for the default games rather then making it from scratch.

Don't even get me started with the art people are passing around. There are a few sources for good high quality box art if you look hard enough. But like you say, the artwork out there varies just a little bit in color and size from one box to the next. These look much nicer! For those of you without Photoshop, you can open and edit.psd files in the free graphic editing tool GIMP. If you have plans to do any of these, that would be great.

I've been working on a project like this for quite some time off and on for my own purposes, mostly for use in Retroarch, but I've been working with a resolution of 521x374, and my PSD is nowhere near as simple since I've been compiling it as I go. The text type changes slightly or the text has to be moved to accommodate for artwork and the like. So far I've done 67 Japanese releases, 18 European, 2 prototypes, 3 Alternate covers (Same game, different name), and 315 US covers.

I've been mostly going in alphabetical order though, and between that and slightly losing interest from time to time is why I've been so slow. Was thinking of uploading them at some point for others, but I keep going back and 'fixing' things I later see wrong.

I've also been going out of my way to try to remove ratings logos from the boxes where I can, as well as promo stuff ('Free coupon inside!' That sort of stuff).
