They should behave like they do in The Sims: either the moving character forces the idle character to move 1-3 tiles or they do a switch-a-roo on the same tile. Great ideas, although to be honest there's not much being done with the game anymore, so I doubt we'll see action on these suggestions.Being able to delete duplicate recipes is something that has been needed since the first Restaurant Empire, I don't understand why they didn't put it into RE2.As far as the kitchen porters blocking the chefs: Place all of the porter stuff on the side of the kitchen with the door, and all of the chef stuff on the other. Haven't really done much with the RE2 campaign, but in RE1 the chefs never leave the kitchen, so there's no reason to have it arranged so they cross paths at all.But yes, this happens a lot with other characters as well, and is something that could potentially be improved. I do spend a fair bit of time trying to rearrange my restaurants to account for the rather poor AI. In Campaign 2, they leave the kitchen to go to the counter and often return. At the same time, servers no longer after to enter the kitchen because the counter is often closer.

The waiting table can be moved into a corner with dishwashers and the dumb waiter.The problem is that porters spawn randomly in the kitchen at the start and they don't seem to move until they are needed. If they happen to be placed in particularly bad spots, they can prevent the chefs from getting to the object they need to get to.I guess a good alternative would be to spawn porters in front of the dumb waiter, sinks, and/or dishwashers. Then again, they could block each other because they may not necessarily be queued to use the object they are standing next to.I leave my restaurants fairly open because they'll complain about noise on top of traffic jams but my kitchens never are.
