Controllers support of concurrent operation. Discussion in 'Professional Discussions' started by CrazyJ, May 15. I have read the online manuals for several controllers but am still a bit hesitant. Calsense Controllers, best irrigation control system's being made. Water – the magic elixir that makes our landscapes green, grow and bloom. But it can be a tricky balancing act – too much is just as bad as too little. Evapotranspiration (ET) and weather based control systems can take the guesswork out of both conserving water and controlling costs.

In this video I cover how to program and setup the Hunter Pro-HC Controller.Amazon Links:Hunter Pro-HC 6 stationVideo Produced by Thrifty Garage (Please Subscribe!)www.youtube.com/thriftygarageFind us on Facebook (Share!)Connect on Instagram (DM me!)This controller was formally known as the Hydrawise irrigation controller. This will be part of a Landscape Contractor Pro Series. I specifically choose this sprinkler controller because of it's contractor platform capabilities. As a residential controller the Hydrawise unit definitely comes in as one of the top contenders for the wifi controller market. Additionally, in my professional opinion the Hunter Pro-HC is by far the best smart sprinkler controller for contractors.Amazon Links:Hunter Pro-HC 6 stationHunter Pro-HC 12 stationHunter 3/4' Flow Meter (Min. I don't have any experience with irrigation controllers, but I think know what I'm looking for.I will have two master valves, one from each water source. I don't really want to get into plumbing code in this thread, as there will be sufficient backflow protection and the master valves will not be both open at once.I don't see any controller, at least in my price range, that supports advanced control of master valves. How often are you planning on switching between the two different water sources? Each time you water, or just once in a while. You have a couple of options.Option 1.If it is just once in a while a single pole double throw switch would work to switch between which valve you want to select.Option 2.If it is every time, and you want it automated.

(and don't want to spend a bunch of money on a Rain Master, like suggested earlier) A master valve is nothing more than an additional zone valve that turns on and off the water to the whole system. You could use a controller like the (that is fairly inexpensive) that you can run program D concurrently with program A, B or C.Set it up to run which stations (1,2,3) you want controlled by your #1 water source on program A. Have your #1 Master Valve hooked to the P/MV (Pump/Master Valve) terminal. That will turn on your #1 Master Valve, when these station are running.

Set the Pump/Master Valve operation to only come on for the stations that you want controlled by Master valve #1. (page 31, ICC manual)Then run the other stations (4,5,6) on program B, that you want to draw from your #2 water source. Set the P/MV operation so it is not controlled by these station. And have program D run station 16 (or any unused station) at the same time for the duration of you watering of these stations that use #2 water source. #2 Master Valve will be wired to the same station terminal that is running on program D, and the field common terminal on that module.Option 3.Install a Calsense controller, all problems solved.
