Thinking password is important, even behind router -right?Before I setup this ATA in front of router, have read that firmware v5 addresses some issues.I found spa2102-5-2-3-spc-win32-i386.exe firmware on the cisco site, followed instructions but nothing. I turned off Windows XP sp3 firewall, connected to the SPA ethernet. Launching the app flashes a cmd window but nothing happens. Didn't see a.bin file, but it is not called for anyway. I do have Upgrade Enable set to YES under the Provisioning tab, retry timeout 100 seconds.did search this forum, seems everyone else got further than me b4 asking questions. Update:Software upgrade successful.
Had to disconnect direct ethernet (192.168.0.1) and access through router (192.168.2.5). First had to apply upgrade 5.2.3, then apply 5.2.5.Updated Line 1 Dial Plan to:(911S0.123S0 411S0.xx 0 00 2-9xxxxxxS2 1xxx2-9xxxxxxS0 xxxxxxxxxxxx.)Password: manual fails to mention: when password is set for user &/or admin, the login name is required which is either 'user' or 'admin'Discovered this box gets hot when resting on its' rubber feet.
