Much the same as with other releases of DaRT, this one is suited to the Windows 7 version of the OS and also Windows Server 2008 R2, both in the 64 bit architecture. Pertaining to Windows 7, whether it be Home Basic, Home Premium, Professional, Enterprise or the Ultimate edition, DaRT 7.0 x64 is compatible with the lot. In the event you haven't come across DaRT, it's basically a set of tools used to diagnose, fix, repair and boot into corrupted/non-functional operating systems. By no means are these the only tools that DaRT entails.

You would need to create DaRT disk on a UEFI computer.The disk that you have created relies upon a BIOS to access the hardware.I've actually tried that, but that doesn't work either.Since I can't access the efi shell on this particular pc I'm testing it with, I won't be able to try and force to start the cd from the efi boot file instead of the regular bootloader. I checked a DaRT 6.5 disk for 64-bit Vista and Server 2008 that I had handy.The efi boot files are there.So, it appears the key is to be able to access the shell or the efi uitility to command a boot from cddvd drive command as in the installation reference from above.

Looking at internal resources, it seems that it will be impossible to run ERD Commander on an EFI machine.You also said that making a DART disk didn’t work.Past that, I would suggest turning EFI off on that particular computer.The way to do this varies because each manufacturer implements this in different ways.Many times it will be an option in the BIOS to boot in “legacy mode”.But turning off EFI may actually put you in a no boot scenario.If this happens then the you should go back into the BIOS and re-enable it.Ketan Thakkar Microsoft Online Community Support.
